Dear Indian,

I address this so because it is for everyone out there who does feel, or claims he feels anything about the mumbai terorist attacks last year. This year, on the 26th, my 1st wedding anniversary, I decided to spend at the TAJ. But of course, living there, trying to feel what must have really happened that fateful night one year ago, was not the motto. And somehow, I believe you cannot invoke people’s feelings either anger or hurt or pain bu constantly showing them pictures with bodies and blood or sing the national anthem or call for everyone to be a true mumbaikar or an Indian, nor by lighting candles. I do not understand the motive or the purpose of this website. Are you trying to justify what is currently happening or bring down those who are opposing you.
If the government really feelis something concrete should be done against these repeated attacks on our country, should you not be taking Mr. Ajmal Kasab to task. We are here, writing blogs and colouns and making speeches, singing patriotic songs, while he is ordering for biriyani and asking for his own choice of lawyers in the jail. That person who did not think twice before he killed not one but several. He was here on a mission from god.
Sad part is, our country is so divided, we do not know whome to believe or worsip or listen to. I must say we are spoilt with too many choices. I wonder why no one says anything about that. What does Sachin’s statement have anything to do with those killed, with the orphaned shildren, with the widows and those who lost everyone?
We have somehow all lost focus and perspective. Politics has become to murky and so corrupt, even the sane have lost sanity. I will not be surprised if some years down the line, Kasab is offered to sign a big movie, opposite some pretty and dumb lass in one of the underworld’s own home production.
All the best India and Congress for that matter…

So true..and yet by writing and speaking about Tukaram Omble you have engraved his actions and his memory on the hearts and minds of many…so long as you remember him, he will remain alive. And his courage and sacrifice venerated .
Truly, one man can make a difference by his action. Tukaram did . And by your speaking up and writing, so do you..

it was also sad that when we remember the dead – it is the Taj and the Trident. somehow those who died at VT don’t seem to matter . yet, VT, possibly, is more a symbol of the aam Indian dream – an entry to the city of Gold — most won’t even be allowed to cross the threshold of Taj/Trident !
