Congress Members To Donate 20% Salary For Drought Relief

At a meeting of the Congress Working Committee,the congress on Wednesday decided that all its ministers, MPs and MLAs will donate part of their salaries to drought relief fund.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has asked the party members to give 20% of their salaries for the measures that are being adopted by central and state governments to pacify drought effects.

“The Congress president proposed that party MPs, legislators, ministers and other salaried office bearers voluntarily offer 20 percent of their salaries for one year from Sep 1,” said Congress general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi.
